With the introduction of the new Presto PLP CD, we combine double-stacker efficiency with long-distance capacity. Standing safely on the operator platform, the operator conveniently handles two pallets per work cycle – all the way through the warehouse.
"Fitting perfectly into the loading/unloading and cross-docking segment, the new Presto PLP CD means we can offer our customers the best of two worlds in one truck", says Jan Callderyd, Product Manager at Atlet.
Featuring state-of-the-art technology such as a ProVision mast design, 5-point chassis with hydraulic Friction Force system and an AC drive motor with Anti-Rollback function, the new Presto PLP CD provides an ergonomic and safe working environment. Allowing for long travel distances and extended work cycles, the foldable operator platform has excellent damping, while the operator is protected by foldable protection bars. A variety of fixed platform options are also available.

Designed around the operator – by the operators
To enhance productivity, the operator environment of the new Atlet Tergo reach trucks is entirely designed around the operator. It's a complete ergonomic concept including a wide range of personal adjustments and innovations, allowing a strain-free, variable and inviting working environment. The product development also included a large commitment from the users.
"Our aim was to design the world's most personal truck. By involving the users from the very beginning of the project and then continuously soliciting their input, the operators had a profound impact on the final result", says Atlet's Product Development Manager Dan Ulmestrand.
No 1 in comparative ergonomic study by Chalmers
Ergonomics have been an Atlet hallmark since the early 1990s. Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg carried out a comparative ergonomic evaluation study. "The study compared the new Atlet Tergo with reach trucks from three other makes and showed that the Tergo offered more ergonomic working postures than the other reach trucks", says Dan Ulmestrand. "And of course, we are very pleased our hard work keeps paying off."

Atlet EH is a very capable truck designed to handle most situations. With a speed of 21km/hr (13 miles/hour) it’s one of the fastest forklifts on the market – thus making it even more efficient over longer distances.
But not all people can handle high speeds. That’s why the performance of the Balance EH can be adjusted depending on who’s driving – whether they are novice or more advanced drivers. PIN codes are part of the standard package and enable personal settings to be entered for top speed, acceleration, lift/tilt speed and regenerative braking.
As one of the most modern trucks on the market, EH Balance naturally provides a smart display with easy diagnosis enabled through the use of error codes. This display is conveniently located in front of the seat.
With quick access to all diagnostics equipment you don’t need special tools or computers.
Guide wheel synchronisation: The guide wheel synchronisation means that the driver will always be seated in an ergonomic position. The steering knob will always end up at 9 o’clock, before and after the driver has turned.
Load damping system:This new factory elective, makes the handling of fragile goods much safer. A sophisticated system with double hydraulic accumulators reduces the oscillations that occur in the hydraulic system when driving on uneven surfaces, which in turn reduces the vibration transmitted to the load and the driver.
Fingertip control:Fingertip control has long been an appreciated feature on our other Balance trucks and is now also available for EH. Together with the adjustable arm rest, it ensures an ergonomically correct position for all drivers.

Lifetime costs and the quality of truck performance and support convinced baby supplier Kiddicare to pick Atlet trucks for its rapidly growing single-site warehousing and retail operations. All the trucks are finished in Kiddicare’s distinctive blue and pink livery. Atlet supplied three advanced Forte UHS reach trucks to operate in double-deep racking areas and four Presto PLP pallet transporters configured as mobile picking stations.

Kiddicare recognised that double-deep storage to the full 11m height of the warehouse would allow it to maximise capacity without unduly compromising its ability to access items. Atlet proposed three of its advanced Forte UHS reach trucks configured for double deep pallet handling and four Presto PLP stand-on powered pallet transporters.
“Our existing warehouse was fragmented and old fashioned with block stacked pallets and no proper use of space,” says Steve Poulter, Kiddicare’s general manager. “Here the aim is to utilise all the available space, have everything under one roof and keep things very simple.”
The double-deep section occupies the largest proportion of the warehouse and runs along five aisles accommodating 3336 pallet locations. The racking is organised into zones, by supplier, for simplicity. The reach trucks are used for putaway, pull down, replenishment and other handling tasks. One of these is to move isolated and small groups of pallets into spare locations to free up contiguous space along an aisle so that the full contents of an incoming container can be stored together.
Larger items are picked at ground level using one of four Atlet PLP ride-on powered pallet transporters. These have been equipped with a barcode scanner and printer which allows operators to verify and label an item as it is picked before transferring it to the despatch area.
Everything is designed to ensure Kiddicare can meet its next day delivery targets for any item ordered before 5pm.
Atlet provided operator training. Regular routine maintenance visits by locally-based engineers are complemented by a same-day call-out service. The company provides Kiddicare with regular reports on truck maintenance, reliability and performance.

Corporate clothing supplier BTC Activewear developed an innovative warehousing and materials handling operation with help from Atlet. Conveyor systems and highly mobile shuttle buggies working with Atlet trucks enabled the company to attain double digit growth by meeting demanding targets for high volumes and rapid response.
As part of its long term strategy BTC Activewear decided to consolidate a number of existing warehousing and distribution operations onto a single site. The warehouse is configured into three separate but adjacent and inter-related zones.
In the centre is a bulk picking area which accommodates the fastest moving and highest volume lines such as plain tee shirts. Picking in this area is undertaken at ground and first level with overhead replenishment stock transferred to pick faces when needed by one of the company’s three Atlet Forte reach trucks.
To one side of the bulk picking area is a very narrow aisle high bay picking zone that stores thousands of different lower volume stock lines. Picking on all nine levels in this area is undertaken using four high level pickers from the Atlet OP range.
The final racking zone in the warehouse comprises traditional palletised loads of items that can be called off to replenish both the main picking areas. This area is normally worked by the Atlet Forte reach trucks but the high level order pickers are also be used to handle incoming stock into storage locations before 1pm. The trucks’ ability to place and retrieve pallets to either side of the aisle is vital to this part of the operation.
BTC Activewear chose Atlet after evaluating equipment from a number of potential suppliers. The most important consideration was the performance of the Atlet OP high level order picker trucks because these are central to the overall operation.
“Atlet outperformed other trucks we tried,” says Charles Grose, managing director at BTC Activewear. “Their sales team clearly understood our requirements and worked with us to ensure we had the support we needed, when we needed it.”

United Coffee UK has increased storage capacity by 56 per cent by reconfiguring racking and introducing Atlet Forte reach trucks. Storage and handling operations have been optimised at the company’s Milton Keynes distribution centre to meet the requirements of its dramatic business growth.
“We store more and we are more efficient because we found the right trucks and rearranged the warehouse,” says Ray Holland, Supply Chain and Distribution Manager at United Coffee UK. “It’s made a big difference to the business but also to the people who work here. Atlet did a fantastic job.”
United Coffee UK specialises in providing coffee & coffee equipment to the foodservice & retail market in the UK & Ireland. When turnover doubled in four years warehouse operations were placed under pressure. The only option was to identify ways of storing more and increasing throughput in the existing building. Turning the racking through 90o offered the prospect of more locations in the same space. The aisles could also be narrowed to 2.5m which would allow additional rows of racking.
Working with United Coffee UK, Atlet used its Logistics Analyser Program to simulate various racking configurations, including narrow aisle and double deep. Double deep offered the potential to maximise storage capacity but did not support the selectivity and throughput required. So Atlet proposed two of its Forte reach trucks which could operate in 2.5m aisles and handle full 1400kg loads to the maximum 6.3m of the highest proposed racking beam.
“Atlet was the only manufacturer that could meet our specification,” says Darren Wilcox, Logistics Manager at United Coffee UK. “They understood what we wanted to achieve and were able to suggest options. Whatever we decided, they were happy to support.”
Incoming pallets are put away using one of the Forte reach trucks. Picking takes place simultaneously, with the trucks retrieving palletised loads as directed by the warehouse management system. Picked items are handled to the front of the warehouse to await loading onto one of United Coffee UK’s fleet of delivery vehicles.
