Handling equipment The straddle trucks These trucks fall into two groups according to how they carry the load; pallet stackers with narrow straddles under the load and straddle trucks proper, where the straddles are wider and outside the load. The narrow pallet stacker is designed to handle open pallets only. As a pallet is relatively low, the straddle-wheels have to be of small diameter. This means that the truck must work on a comparatively even surface. The truck may be either high-lift (stacker) or low lift (low lifter).
