Handling equipment The counterbalance truck The counterbalance truck is the most common aid in the work of loading and unloading. It can be fitted with large pneumatic tyres for use on poor surfaces. It can handle standard pallets from either the long or short side. The larger counterbalance trucks are usually of internal combustion type and should therefore be used outdoors. Smaller counterbalance trucks are usually electric, the advantage being that they can be used both in- and outdoors, for pick up and delivery of goods etc. The counterbalance truck can be given different types of wheel according to how and where it is to be used.
