| The racking stands on motordriven trolleys and moves on rails in the floor. A series of racks forms a dense-storage unit with a moving aisle. The driver opens the required aisle by radio, a button system or a light signal. Mobile racking gives very high utilization of space, but the handling capacity is low. |
| The capital cost is relatively high. |
| With a moving aisle of 4 metres, goods can be efficiently taken into stock with a stacker / counterbalance truck. Picking with picking trucks permits the opening of three aisles (3x1.3 metres). Effective in freezer stores etc. |
